we believe design should feel as good as it looks. Banfield Design Co. is a collaborative team of interior designers, architectural technologists, and custom home specialists creating homes that work beautifully for real life.

we specialize in residential renovations and custom homes, guiding each project from concept through completion bringing design, planning, and permitting together into one seamless experience. because the experience matters as much as the outcome.

every decision is considered, every detail has a purpose. The result is a home that feels calm, intuitive, and quietly refined because good design doesn't need to be complicated.

we stay connected to our industry through Passive House Canada, CHBA, and HAVAN, so every home we design is well-built and future-ready.

Jamie Banfield didn't grow up around polished show-homes. he was born in Llanelli, a small seaside industrial town on the south coast of Wales shaped by steel and coal, where industry and everyday life sit side by side. that environment teaches grit, pride, and that belonging isn't about perfection, it's about being honest and real. that perspective still carries through his work today.

for Jamie, design was never about looking good it's about how a space works, how it feels to live in, how it holds up. The harder part is making it work.

after relocating to British Columbia, that perspective evolved with the west coast landscape natural textures, calm palettes, thoughtful restraint, beauty balanced with function that feels effortless, not overworked.

before leading a design firm, Jamie spent years around trades and construction sites, learning how things actually come together not the curated version, the real one. that's why the studio runs on seamless integration between design, planning, and construction, so clients feel supported every step of the way.

today, Jamie leads Banfield Design Co. with a focus on clarity, collaboration, and consistency bringing architectural design, interior design, and permitting into one cohesive process. he stays actively engaged with Passive House Canada, CHBA, and HAVAN, not for recognition, but to stay connected to where the industry is going.
