Description: A classic farmhouse renovation in Langley blending bold colour, natural texture, and traditional charm anchored by a Gentleman's Gray kitchen island and a beamed, shiplap ceiling.

A classic farmhouse-style home with modern amenities, this renovation features the perfect mix of bold colours, natural elements, and traditional charm. The kitchen pops with a coat of 2062-20 Gentleman's Gray by Benjamin Moore on the cabinets and island. The island is outfitted with its own sink and storage solutions, making it perfect for entertaining or having family over. We added post details to the corners of the island for extra character, so it stands out as if it were a piece of furniture. Freestanding shelves with dark metal details complement the black hood fan and cabinet hardware. By varying texture and scale across the backsplash, we kept the design cohesive so every intricate detail has a chance to shine. The ribbed farmhouse sink grants the perfect cottage-like atmosphere.

Above, we outfitted the ceiling to be a focal point in its own right. The beam detail, finished with the same black hardware as the open shelves, keeps the space cohesive, while white shiplap between the beams adds detail and elongates the room.

The kitchen flows into the dining room, which carries the same style and feel. Double French doors bring in ample light and symmetry. We inlaid a herringbone pattern underneath the dining table to act as an area rug and add further detail to the flooring. The same quartz from the countertops was used on the fireplace, and the mantel was clad in the same wood as the beams above. Wall panel moulding adds traditional charm to the dining room with added texture.

For the laundry room, we tied in the same open shelving as the kitchen to act as a connection between spaces even the barn door emulates the same wood and black hardware design. Using shiplap on the bathroom wall and large-scale tiling in the shower, we brought in a uniform feel that lets the black lighting pop. For practicality, we added a built-in bench and niche to the shower, with a digital keypad controlling the fully decked-out shower system, complete with body jets.
